A Boutique Apartment Hotel Near the Texas Medical Center That Feels Like Your Own Place
MedStays at Morningside is a boutique apartment hotel near Houston's Texas Medical Center, just 1 mile from MD Anderson. Every suite includes a kitchenette, a real living area, and free parking. Book one night before a consult, or stay for months of treatment. There's no lease either way.
Medstays owns and runs it, and the Houston team has housed patients, caregivers, and medical professionals around the TMC area for more than 12 years. The building is brand new, and we designed every detail with those guests in mind.
Why Choose an Apartment Hotel Over a Standard Hotel Room?
A regular hotel room works fine for a night or two. By night four, you're tired of takeout, living out of a suitcase, and parking charges stacking up. A furnished apartment fixes that, but most want a lease, a deposit, and a 30-day minimum.
Morningside sits in between. You book it like a hotel, by the night, the week, or month-to-month. You live in it like an apartment, with a kitchenette, room to spread out, and on-site laundry.
That matters when you don't know how long you'll be in Houston. Treatment plans shift. Contracts get extended. You can add a week without moving, and our extended-stay options near the medical center cost less per night the longer you stay.

How Far Is Morningside From the Major TMC Hospitals?
The Texas Medical Center is the largest medical complex in the world, so "near the TMC" can mean a five-minute drive or a twenty-five-minute one. What matters is the distance to your hospital, your garage, and your clinic entrance.
MD Anderson Cancer Center: 1 mile, about 5 minutes by car. See our guide to staying near MD Anderson.
Houston Methodist Hospital: 1.3 miles, about 9 minutes. More details for Houston Methodist patients and visitors.
Texas Children's Hospital: 1.2 miles, about 8 minutes. Read about family stays near Texas Children's.
Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center: 1.4 miles, about 10 minutes.
Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center: 1.5 miles, about 11 minutes.
These are typical drive times outside rush hour. Traffic into the medical center is heaviest on weekday mornings, so leave a little early for anything before 9 a.m. Add 10 to 15 minutes to park and walk to check-in, since most garages are a short walk from the clinic floors. If you're still learning the campus, the Texas Medical Center's official site is a good place to start for information on its member hospitals.

Some guests are here for a grandchild's surgery, a second opinion, or a week of sitting with someone they love. The two-bedroom suite gives a family room to be together without being on top of each other. Hermann Park and the Houston Zoo sit right beside the medical center for the hours between visits.
